The new partnership has welcomed a new Business Development Manager, Ellie Patience, previously the commercial solutions manager here at Your Homes Newcastle.

Ellie has more than 10 years of experience in the housing industry and a background in business development, income generation, marketing, and service improvement.

Ellie is seconded from Your Homes Newcastle to Tyne Housing, which is the host organisation for the role. Designed to improve employment outcomes and deliver real change for people living in social and supported housing across the North East region, Ellie will seek partnership opportunities and identify funding streams and grow the partnership between the 13 regional housing provider members.

Ellie said: “I’m thrilled to take on this new role and have the opportunity to use my skills and experience to develop this exciting regional employment partnership.

“The member housing providers offer more than just a roof and four walls. It’s about providing a more comprehensive offer to tenants, including training and development, and a link to employers and their vacancies.

“Whether it’s a young person looking for an apprenticeship or an individual wanting to get back into work, the aim of the partnership is to provide tailored support and opportunities for all.

“It’s great to see housing providers working collaboratively to share experience, learning, and best practice and using this collective expertise to develop a trusted regional voice.”

We are working in partnership with Tyne Housing, Gentoo Group, North Star Housing, Jonnie Johnson Housing, Karbon Homes, Home Group, Livin Housing, Bernicia Homes, Believe Housing, Beyond Housing, Oasis Community Housing and Thirteen Group.

Steve McKinlay, chief executive of Tyne Housing and chair of the partnership, said: “We’re really pleased to welcome Ellie to Tyne and have her onboard to support the overall running of this fantastic partnership.

“We believe by further building on the great employability work that is already being delivered across the region by our members, that this partnership will make a real difference in our communities.

“I speak on behalf of the member organisations in saying that we are looking forward to working with Ellie and seeing the positive impact of the partnership across the region.”
