£10,000 community funding available for Covid-19 relief efforts
Your Homes Newcastle, in partnership with Ideal Boilers, has launched a new £10,000 community fund to help local projects and organisations respond to the impact of Covid-19.
As we begin the third wave of lockdown, we know that there are many in need of a helping hand. Everyone’s circumstances are different, so we’ve developed this fund to be flexible towards the needs of the community.
You might want to apply for a grant for home-schooling materials like stationary, games and crafts to bring together family members of the same households. If you’re living in a sheltered block you might want to hire in a singer for residents or buy bingo equipment for some socially distanced entertainment.
There are some restrictions on what we can help fund, but please get in touch for a chat and we can talk through your ideas.
- You can ask for a maximum of £250 to help people in your community
- We can’t transfer money to individuals, so you need to link up with a local community group or charity that has a business bank account in order to apply.
- All government and social distancing guidelines MUST be adhered to and applicants must ensure that the donation will benefit YHN customers.
Your Homes Newcastle have already deployed over 100 staff to provide additional support to communities with some making daily welfare calls and supporting local foodbanks and pharmacies with deliveries. This funding allows for you to shape the support you receive and ask for something a little different.
