Multi-storey building safety
Multi-storey building safety
Give us your views on our draft Building Safety Resident Engagement Strategy
Our draft Building Safety Resident Engagement Strategy sets out what we do to ensure that people who live in high-rise buildings are aware of the measures we put in place to keep them safe from fire and other structural incidents and how we ensure residents are able to ask questions, raise concerns and be included in decision-making about their building. If you live in a high-rise block of flats managed by Your Homes Newcastle please tell us what you think of our draft strategy. About building safety
We have many measures and precautions in place to ensure all of the multi-storey buildings we manage meet the highest levels of building safety standards. These include carrying out regular inspections, such as regular fire door checks, installing safety features, such as smoke alarms, and complying with building regulations and legislation.
Read more about the fire safety legislation we comply with at Fire safety laws to keep you safe.
How to keep yourself and your neighbours safe
We are all responsible for the safety of your building. The short videos on this page explain how we keep your building safe and what you need to know to stay safe, including how your smoke alarm works, how to keep your fire door safe and what you should do if there is an emergency. We can also provide information in an Easy Read format on request. Videos are also available in Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, Farsi, French, Mandarin, Polish and Portuguese - click here to access them.
