Applying for a home or garage with us is easy. Once you have registered on the Newcastle Homes website you can search and apply for homes and manage your applications online. We've put together some useful information on the application process and how our homes are allocated.

Moving in
There are lots of things that you need to think about when moving into a new home. YHN offers a range of additional services that can help you settle in and enjoy living in your home. We have put together some guidance about the support services we can offer to customers.
Mutual exchange
If you are a YHN customer and would like to swap your home with another City Council tenant or any other social landlord, we've put together some guidance on exchanging your home, including how to register, search and apply for homes that are available to exchange.
Emergency housing
We offer specialist support and help finding emergency housing for adults and young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. If you need help to find emergency accommodation then please call us on 0191 278 8600 or contact the Newcastle City Council Housing Advice Centre.
