Wendy, a YHN customer of 27 years, shares her story about the financial support she received from YHN:

“When I was diagnosed with Cancer, I didn’t know where to turn for help. I felt like I was getting passed from pillar to post until my Macmillan nurse recommended that I speak with YHN to get some support with my income and finances.

“The help I received from Jessica was fantastic. She helped me with my Personal Independence Payment claim, discussed my entitlement, and even applied on my behalf. I had to do an assessment over the phone to claim which was very difficult for me, so Jessica joined me on a three-way call to help me through the assessment process. I don’t think I could have done it without her.

“Nothing was too much bother. She has helped me in so many ways. She feels more like a friend now.

“Before I got in touch, I didn’t know that this help was available from YHN. Even my friend told me that I’d only be able to get help with housing. I didn’t realise that YHN could support with other things, such as your finances.

“I would highly recommend anyone who needs some help to get in touch. They can help with more than just housing, including your finances, rent and bills, and benefits.”
