Newcastle jobseekers are being encouraged to go online later this week for a virtual jobs and training fair that brings employers and training providers from across the city together to advertise vacancies and training opportunities.

Housing provider Your Homes Newcastle (YHN) will be hosting the event on Facebook and Twitter on Thursday July 30th from 10am-12pm and anyone interested can sign up on Thursday 30th July from 10am-12pm on our official Facebook and Twitter pages.

The virtual event, which is open to anyone looking for work in the City will showcase current employment and training opportunities from employers including the NHS, Disability North, food charity FareShare and organisers YHN.

Staff from YHN’s employability team will be on hand for the duration of the online event, offering follow up advice and support for anyone making contact on the day.

Jen Vinton, Customer Services Director at YHN, said: “We know that many of our customers have seen their incomes affected by the coronavirus outbreak and the same is true for people across the city. With this in mind, we wanted to offer a helping hand to anyone looking for work by partnering with employers to showcase the current vacancies in the city.

“With social distancing measures in place, a digital event seemed like the perfect option and we’re thrilled that so many employers have got involved. We’re really excited to host it and hope that this will be a real benefit to anyone currently looking for new opportunities.”
