Housing Plus - Assisted Living

Our Housing Plus – Assisted Living developments are exclusively for people over 55, offering modern and accessible housing and care for people who need support to live independently.

Each customer has their own independent one or two bedroom apartment or bungalow designed with comfort, accessibility and home security in mind.  Specially trained staff are on hand 24/7, providing a range of specialist care support during the day and peace of mind that help is at hand overnight in an emergency.

Types of care available

Different care needs are catered for in our Housing Plus – Assisted Living developments including:

• Low level support such as medication prompts and help with shopping
• Medium care needs such as meal preparation and assistance with dressing
• Higher care needs such as personal care and night time calls. 

The maximum care need that can be met within our accommodation is visits that total a maximum of 35 hours per week.

About your tenancy

• No management fees to pay
• Repairs and maintenance included
• Optional furniture rental service available.

We offer our accommodation at affordable rents with a service charge that includes the cost of maintaining communal gardens and areas.  You will need to pay for your care services separately.

Depending on your circumstances, you may get help to meet the cost of your rent or your care.  We can complete a confidential assessment with you to find out if you are eligible.

Housing Plus – Assisted Living housing is only available to people with a specific care need that can be met by our service.  Newcastle City Council will carry out an assessment of your needs to find out if you are eligible.
