YHN is a partner of the Armed Forces Outreach Service, which helps veterans living in the North East to make the transition from military life back into civilian life, and also supports serving members of the Armed Forces and their families.

Newcastle City Council’s lettings policy, which YHN adheres to, states that former and serving members of the armed forces, as well as their bereaved spouses and civil partners, will be considered to be in “urgent need” of housing in particular circumstances and given a higher priority banding when bidding for the properties we manage.
