A move to the City Library for the Civic Customer Service Centre from April.
This move from its current location is the first step for the council to achieve its ambition of establishing a series of community and information hubs across the city. These will provide local people with easy access to many services they need in convenient locations, placing many of these at the heart of communities.
Most of the current services that have been offered at the Civic Centre will now be available at the new purpose built space at the library alongside Your Homes Newcastle’s Housing Options Service, Citizens Advice and Connexions.
The new easy to use self service options will result in customers being dealt with more quickly and a reduction in waiting times. Extra support will be given to customers who really need it, particularly those who are applying for benefits.
