Welcome to the procurement section of the YHN
website.
YHN procures a range of goods and services
from stationery items to building materials. We spend around £145m
per year on externally provided goods and services.
Our approach to procurement is detailed in our

our vision, strategic aims and how we will deliver the
Strategy.
As an ALMO YHN’s procurement activities are
governed by a number of legislative and regulatory sources. This
impacts and governs our approach to strategic sourcing, acquisition
and post contract activities.
We are keen to widen our supplier base and
increase the number of organisations we do business with. In
order to do this we are looking to improve the way we advertise
tender opportunities and expand our standing list of suppliers.
- All our tenders over a certain value
(£156,442, for goods and services and £3,927,260 works) are
advertised through the Supplement of the Official Journal of the
European Union. This can be accessed through Tenders Electronic
Daily at http://ted.europa.eu/
- For all supply and install
contracts, we operate a standing list of approved suppliers. If you

This system will be replaced during 2010-11 with an
e-procuremnet system which will enable us to engage electronically
with prospective suppliers in relation to all procurements over
£5,000.
