Counselling
Counselling is provided by
volunteer counsellors who are qualified or in training.
There are male and female counsellors available and they offer
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person Centred Counselling or an
eclectic model of counselling
What do we do?
We offer counselling to everyone who uses our services to:
- help young people to feel better about themselves and solve
their problems
- give time to young people to talk to someone privately and
safely
- help young people to resolve issues that get in the way of them
making friends and relationships, being assertive, making positive
choices and achieving their goals
How to make a referral
Any young person who is accessing any other part of the Young
People’s Service or members of families receiving a service from
the Family Intervention Project can receive the service.
Referral can be made:
- directly from the young person
- from a worker in conjunction with the young person.
