Tenant Handbook
All Newcastle
City Council tenants sign a tenancy agreement and receive
a copy of the Tenant Handbook when they sign up for their
tenancy.
The Tenant Handbook gives you useful information and advice to
help you make the most of your new council tenancy. It aims to help
you settle into your new home and to answer any questions you may
have throughout your tenancy.
As well as setting out your tenancy conditions, the handbook
contains information on your rights and responsibilities as a
tenant, and our rights and responsibilities as your
landlord.
You should read your handbook carefully as it is your guide
to the housing service. Make sure you put it in a safe place so you
can refer back to it whenever you need to. If you have lost your
Handbook, please contact your local Community Housing Office for
advice.

Introductory tenancies
Some tenancies are granted on a trial or ‘introductory’
basis. Introductory tenants here have slightly less rights
than secure tenants for the first twelve months of their
tenancy. Click here to
