One of our primary aims is to ensure that the stay in Newcastle of people seeking asylum is free from discrimination and prejudice. 

We do this by:

• delivering awareness raising sessions across Newcastle
• publishing a range of promotional materials that challenge misconceptions about asylum
• working with others to ensure we achieve this aim. 

We deliver awareness raising sessions to tackle misconceptions, misinformation and half truths that are often circulated by sections of the media about people seeking asylum.  Between 2003 and February 2009 we delivered over 100 awareness raising sessions.
