One of our primary aims is to ensure that the stay in Newcastle of people seeking asylum is free from discrimination and prejudice.

We do this by:

• delivering awareness raising sessions across Newcastle
• publishing a range of promotional materials that challenge outdated perceptions about asylum

We deliver awareness raising sessions to tackle misconceptions, misinformation and half truths that are often circulated by sections of the media about people seeking asylum.  Between 2003 and January 2006 we have delivered over 80 awareness raising sessions.
