Our Grant Aid budget

We want to contribute to ensuring that all people living or working in Newcastle are provided with appropriate and inclusive services and opportunities.  The Asylum Seeker/Refugee Grant Aid Budget is a responsive and flexible fund for community and voluntary projects.

  • promoting education, training and lifelong learning for asylum seekers and refugees

  • tackling racist abuse, harassment and discrimination towards asylum seekers and refugees
  • promoting awareness raising around issues relating to asylum seekers and refugees
  • developing or improving community resources, services and/or facilities to assist in the settlement of people seeking asylum or with refugee status
  • improving health for asylum seekers and refugees
  • undertaking research into asylum and refugee issues in Newcastle
  • promoting the opportunity for asylum seekers and refugees to take a full and active part in community life including the creation of opportunities for people to meet each other
