Modern Homes Investment Programme

Newcastle’s biggest ever housing improvement programme is going ahead after we secured a 2 star rating from government inspectors.  The achievement has unlocked £348m of extra government funding that we will use to ensure that all Council homes meet the Decent Homes Standard by 2010.

We have worked with tenants to decide how best to organise the improvement work.  We decided to split the works into two separate packages - internal and external work.  These will be carried out separately with a decent break in between.  This will reduce the amount of disruption during the works to your home.

If work is planned for your home soon, our 'Talk to us' bus will visit your estate to host an information event a few weeks before work is due to take place.  Visit our Events calendar to find out where the bus will be visiting soon.
