'I joined YHN on the Administration Modern Apprentice Scheme in January 2007 and learned and developed lots of new skills but working in housing was something that had always interested me.  In January 2008 I took the opportunity to apply for a temporary Housing Services Assistant position and was lucky enough to be offered a Secondment (which means that I can go back to my Modern Apprenticeship once my temporary Housing Services Assistant job has finished).

I now work as a Housing Services Assistant, based in the Newbiggin Hall estate and I am very happy in my job; housing is definately the career for me. My days are very varied, one day I can be working on the front reception desk and the next I can be out and about meeting tenants, which is great fun...!'
