We are always looking at new and different ways that we can get customers involved and one of new methods is through our Positive Activities Programme.

This programme is a different way for you to get involved with YHN. We have worked with customers to develop lots of activities for the programme and we have already taken lots of great ideas on board. We know that we have a diverse customer base with people of all ages from different backgrounds so we have tried to include a wide range of activities to encourage all customers to get involved.

Here are just a few of the activities that you can take part in:

A2B

A2B is our partnership with the Newcastle Eagles basketball team.

We have a number of tickets for Eagles home games at the Sports Central Arena at Northumbria University. The tickets are available free of charge to any YHN tenants but we specifically target families as we run a number of competitions and reward schemes for the kids to enjoy.

The Eagles have music, street dancers, ball jugglers and loads of other things on game nights so it is a great night out for the whole family.

Your Home at the Theatre

This exciting project is part of a partnership that we have with the Theatre Royal.

In 2010 we took a number of YHN families into the Theatre and they worked with the Theatre Royal Learning Team over a number of weeks.

The families put all of the acting and theatrical skills that they had developed into a performance that they delivered in front of an audience at the Theatre Royal.

It was an amazing experience for the YHN families that were involved and we are looking to continue with similar projects in the future. If you think that you might be interested in projects that are similar to this then please get in touch.

Summer Leisure Passport

This project gives all YHN families the chance to enjoy £20 worth of free activity at a number of leisure centres across the city during the summer holidays.

The project has been extremely popular as whole families have been able to enjoy a range of different activities at excellent facilities that are available on their doorstep.
