How we can help you get involved

Involving everyone
We know that involving people in managing their homes and estates is vital to delivering better housing services and improving quality of life for council tenants and leaseholders in Newcastle.
We also recognise that people who live in Newcastle have diverse backgrounds, circumstances and needs. We will make sure that we provide ways to involve all our customers so that we deliver services that meet the different needs of the communities we work with.
This means we will use a wide range of approaches to involve you at different levels in ways that suit your different needs and circumstances.
Support
We offer support to make sure everyone can get involved. This includes:
- help with travel expenses.
- help with child care.
- using accessible venues.
- providing hearing loop systems.
- providing information in Plain English.
- providing British Sign Language interpreters.
- providing language interpreters.
Photographs
We sometimes take photos of involvement events to use in reports, publicity or on our website. Please let us know if you are not happy for your picture to be taken.
How to get involved
If you want to take part in any of our groups or meetings you need to contact us.
We will then invite you to groups, events and meetings. If you want to come along you will usually need to ring up and book a place. The groups are popular so places are given on a first come first served basis.
To make sure all of our events are enjoyable and welcoming to everyone we will ask people to leave an event if they are causing distress to others. This includes all types of harassment including verbal or physical. Read our Ground rules to find out more.
