Schools 

There are five primary schools and two high schools in the Walker area.  One of the high schools is a specialist sports college and the other is a high performing technology college with a visual arts school.

Walker and Walkergate have good public transport links with bus services into Newcastle and Wallsend. There are also Metro service from Walkergate staton and nearby Byker.
