YHN properties in the North Kenton area are managed by staff in the North Kenton housing office on Hillsview Avenue.

The housing office is The Kenton Centre. The centre has a Customer Service Centre, a new library and a base for the Social Services Community Resource Team. 

Customers can access Primary Care Trust services such as Community Nursing, School Health, Physiotherapy, Audio Visual Screening and a GP Practice here.

Types of housing in North Kenton

There are around 2000 properties in the area which cover three estates. 

North Kenton is a traditional estate which has a wide variety of properties including 1 and 2 bedroom flats, 2 and 3 bedroom houses and 1 bedroom bungalows. 

The Kenton Bar estate is a mixture of flats, bungalows and houses with two, three and four bedrooms.  The area has undergone a major rewiring programme. 

The Montagu estate has 2 and 3 bedroom houses and 1 and 2 bedroom flats.  Some of the flats have caretaker services.  There are also 1 bedroom bungalows which have age restrictions.

Local facilities

There is a wide range of shops including a supermarket, chemist and a Post Office in the area.  There is a primary school in the middle of the Kenton Bar estate.
