25/02/2008 Your Homes Newcastle is giving vulnerable people and carers the chance to find out more about its Community Care Alarm Service.

The Community Care Alarm Service provides round-the-clock support to people in their own homes via a high-tech alarm system.

When an alarm goes off, for example after a fall, a vulnerable person is automatically connected to a call centre where staff can offer practical help and reassurance. The service can also telephone a doctor or a relative on behalf of the vulnerable person if needed or call out one of YHN’s mobile wardens to their home.

The service is holding a free, no obligation, demonstration event at Gosforth Customer Service Centre on Regent Farm Road, Newcastle, on February 28.

There are two sessions, one between 3pm and 5pm and one between 6pm and 8pm.
