This year, we created a 6th category in celebration of YHN reaching its 5th birthday!

The YHN 5th Year Anniversary Group award was open to YHN tenant and leaseholder groups who made a positive difference to their community through group activity or action.

The winner of this award was the Spinney Tenants’ Association.

Vera Hill, wife of the association’s secretary, Brian Hill, nominated the group because of the “considerable difference” to the area they have made.

She said that “the quality of life has been greatly enhanced for our elderly residents. There is a new community room, the area has been modernised, the flats’ interiors decorated and elderly residents’ fear of crime has also been reduced.”
