Ceremony to launch new properties

Eight fantastic new build properties in Kenton are to be officially opened in a special ceremony.

The two-bedded bungalows are the result of a partnership between Your Homes Newcastle, Newcastle City Council and the Homes and Communities Agency.

Lord Mayor of Newcastle Cllr Mike Cookson will unveil a commemorative plaque that will mark the homes as amongst the first social housing to be built in the city for 30 years.  YHN Chief Executive John Lee, Doug Henderson MP and representatives from Newcastle City Council and building partners Bellway, will be there.

The eight bungalows are part of a series of affordable homes built at three sites across the city as YHN, Newcastle City Council and HCA continue to address the housing need in the city.  Priority for the Souter Court properties will be given to elderly and disabled people.
