Our policies, practices and procedures actively promote equality, diversity, human rights and community cohesion.  We work hard to support the elimination of barriers that prevent fairness for all of our employees and customers regardless of:

YHN has been honoured for its outstanding support for lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) staff after being ranked one of the best UK employers in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index 2015. We work hard to ensure our housing services are fully inclusive to all customers, including those who are LGB.

Equality Impact Assessments

The Equality Impact and Needs Assessments process makes sure that we think carefully about the likely impact of our policies, procedures, strategies or services.  They help us to identify any needs that have not been met and provide a basis for us to make improvements where appropriate.

Their key purpose is to make sure that a proposed policy or service doesn't affect individuals or groups unfavourably. If anything is identified we must take action to remedy the issue or improve the situation for those groups that are most disadvantaged.
