Area Boards
The main purpose of Area Boards is to facilitate decision-making
and to provide opportunities for tenant involvement at an area
level. Area Boards are an important mechanisum for monitoring local
performance against service standards, including for example rent
arrears and repairs performance.
Your Homes Newcatle has three Area Boards covering the city -
East, Inner West and Outer West & North. The membership
of each area board is made up of one third city council nominees,
one third elected tenant members and one third appointed
independent people. To find out who the current area board

Area Board meetings are open to the public. Meeting dates
are publicised in Homes + People, local community housing offices
as well as on the internet.
Members of the public can ask questions of the Area
Board. Questions should be sent in writing to the Area
Board Director, no later than 48 hours before the start of the
meeting. All questions should include the name and address of the
questioner.
