We are an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO)
responsible for managing council homes on behalf of Newcastle City
We were set up in 2004 to manage council properties, to improve
housing in order to meet the Government’s Decent Homes standard,
and to provide a range of support services for Newcastle City
We currently manage:
- 26,700 council homes on behalf of Newcastle City Council
- 1,800 homes on behalf of the Byker Community Trust
- 330 homes on behalf of Leazes Homes.
We also manage 1,500 leasehold properties on behalf of Newcastle
City Council and the Byker Community Trust.

YHN is a large organisation with around 900 members of
staff. A large number of our staff work in housing
management and support services positions but we also have people

Institute of Leadership
Your Homes Newcastle became an approved Institute of Leadership
and Management (ILM) centre in August 2008. Qualifications are
offered in Management, Leadership and Coaching from Level 2 through
to Level 5.
Places on programmes are available to YHN’s partner organisations
at a discounted rate.
